Tricky test awaits as league leaders up next

After some excellent performances at the back end of 2021 the Wasps take to the road this weekend to face league leaders Anselmians in what should be a tough affair.

The Wirral-based club are unbeaten this season, sitting on top of the North Two West league table with 59 points.

The Wasps will be having their first competitive run out since beating Warrington 29-17 at home in December and will be looking to put in a solid performance despite missing some key players.

Ahead of the game Head Coach Chris Wright said 'We are pleased with the squad available to travel as it shows the in-depth we have developed. This is down to the great work of the seconds this year. Unfortunately injuries to hookers captain James Hunter, Ian McDowell and back row James Sewell and the unavailability of prop Mike Fagan and in form scrum half Mark Watson mean we had a few places to fill. Thomas Peet, Alex Buttefield, Luke Armstrong, Dan Martin, Stevie Leonard and Daniel Fielden look forward to challenging themselves against the best team in the league. Harry Bibby is also back in training after his nasty hand break at Tarleton, so we hope he is back in contention for St Benedicts at home next week.'

Good luck Wasps
