Skills on show at home and in Newcastle!

Brilliant day today at Cockermouth Rufc on Sunday. We held an u8s festival. Load teams. loads of games. Loads of smiles. Just have a look at our great photos of the event.

The u13s were also at the Newcastle Falcons festival on Sunday. We played some really good rugby, sticking to our game plan of moving the ball and keeping it alive and avoiding a physical battle at the breakdown. Great day of rugby. Have a look at our video in the comments.

Cockermouth u14s enjoyed an away day at Newcastle.
In the morning two teams entered the Falcons 7s festival. Each team played 4 games experiencing playing against teams from Percy Park, Harrogate, Barnard Castle. Westoe and Alnwick. The 7s games were fast and furious, with lots of off loading, passing, tackling and the occasional ruck. Tries were scored with a range of aspects of the game being involved from skilled footwork, passing into space to raw speed and power.
After a quick bird bath and a shot of lynx they were ready for an afternoon in the Metro centre; (replacing the usual falcons fixture which was rearranged to the Friday night).
In the metro centre the players, enjoyed some well earned food, a bit of retail therapy and 10 pin bowling. The parents also played 10 pin bowling with Mum’s showing the Dads how it’s done properly.
It was then back on the coach to briefly remind cheeky U13s sat on the back seat, the etiquette of coach seating arrangements and off home.

U15s

Young ?s playing in the u15s ospreys team at the Newcastle Falcons 7s were class today, high standards in every game, skill level very high, massive individual defence. Playing against very strong North East opposition they managed to stay unbeaten and solve many problems along the way.

Our junior rugby continues to stay action packed and although a lot of attention is on the first trans semi final in Saturday our u13s are hosting Marple Rufc from Stockport, bar is open for a 3pm kick off. On Sunday our successful colts team will finish their season off with a 4.30pm kick off v Keswick at home, again bar is open.
