Under-14s Girls 7-aside Rugby Tournament

Cockermouth RFC - Sunday, 1st June
The rugby pitches of Cockermouth were alive with action as four teams battled it out in an exciting under-14s girls 7-aside tournament. Redcar RUFC made the journey to Cumbria with two squads—Redcar Scarlets and Redcar All Blacks—joining hosts Cockermouth and a talented mixed squad of Penrith and Keswick players known as the Cumbrian Barbarians.
Round 1: A Fierce Start
The opening round saw Cockermouth narrowly edged out by Redcar Scarlets in a hard-fought contest, finishing 12-19. Meanwhile, the Cumbrian Barbarians made an emphatic statement of intent, delivering a commanding 78-0 victory over Redcar All Blacks.
Round 2: Momentum Builds
The Cumbrian Barbarians continued their winning streak, overcoming Redcar Scarlets in a high-scoring affair, 47-25. Cockermouth bounced back in style, securing a well-earned victory over Redcar All Blacks, showing resilience and skill.
Round 3: A Grand Finale
In the final round of matches, Cockermouth faced the tournament’s dominant force, the Cumbrian Barbarians, who secured another win with a 47-12 triumph. Meanwhile, Redcar Scarlets finished on a high, claiming victory over their clubmates, Redcar All Blacks, with a 47-5 result.
A Celebration of Rugby Talent
