Successful Weekend

Well done to Cumbria Rugby over the weekend with some fine performances across the age groups.

Starting with the Cumbria Senior Mens winning 34-26 and Wasps scrum half Mark Watson being part of the win. A great performance and very hard lines not qualifying for the next stages on points difference. A special mention to Cumbria kitman Billy Maxwell who retired from his service after the game, many years of top support for players, coaches and clubs. Good Job pal.

Next up is Cumbria U17s who were also playing Durham at Penrith RUFC. Again the Wasps were very well represented and played a big part in the 35-14 win. "Great to have our Wasps Colts representing the club, well done lads" Coach S Reed

Lastly our Cockermouth lads, part of the U15 Ospreys, Jamie Black and Alfie Wright are going really well and enjoying their experiences as part of the Newcastle Falcons DPP festivals for North/West Cumbria. They are now unbeaten in 6 games, last week at West Hartlepool and this week at Kingston Park against squads from Northumbria and Durham. Final round of games is at Wigton RUFC from 1.30pm on Sunday 28th May.

It is not only the players who are benefitting from representative rugby with Coach Stephen Reed involved with the U17s and Richard Black/Chris Wright involved with the U15s. These are great learning opportunities for the coaches and only help the Wasps as they come back with new ideas to share.
