Raring to get going

Youth Games

The u12/u13s team played at Zebras today. A really good game of competitive rugby. Some amazing individual trys and more importantly team spirit and determination shown by the young wasps. Only one try in it at the end with one dubious try the difference. Considering we are a 50/50 split 12s and 13s and this was a big 13 team we gave them a real good battle. Keswick away next week so hopefully build on that performance ?? Coach S Burke.

Other than that it was a very quiet weekend with our club finally back up and running but the grounds frozen and no training, only the U15s ospreys managed a training session at Keswick.

Senior Rugby

The first team are desperate to get started as the rule makers have reset the Cumbria League into conference 1 & 2. With the points reset it gives a very good opportunity to push for that promotion place once more. Upper Eden have re started in impressive unbeaten form and Whitehaven have started strongly. This week the lads should get started with Millom at home, 2.15pm ko - Ball Sponsor - The Huck Family.

Unfortunately 2nd team rugby has gone very quiet and we hope after the great work of Olly Gray and Grant Law building numbers up these fixtures start again soon.

A number of Vets players, including Steven Brough, Craig Muller, Chris Wright & Dale Pope will be joining Wigton & Keswick to play against a travelling Ambleside at Wigton 1pm ko. Please get in touch if you want to be involved in social touch rugby or vets fixtures.

Talent Development

Dan Woodcock continues his fine form again being selected for Falcons 18s who played Midlands Academy and came away with a 14-14 draw.

With Falcons academy pathway our Ospreys U15s currently have a number of players selected within the U16s Cumbria training programme and lots of lads involved in the U15s/14s North/West Cumbria programme. Great credit to the players, parents, club & school for developing these players to this standard so far. Keep up the great work.
