Lots of successes across the ages.

Good today at Egremont Rufc u8s festival. Weather really good and sunny made for flowing rugby. Skills starting to shine??? Will always thank our sponsors NWB Consultants Ltd IFA and Insurance Brokers . And T J Dixon Exterior cleaning. Without our sponsors we wouldn't have a kit and training tops. Thanks lads??. Coach Clopper.

U12s

The u12’s played in a festival at Kendal today and won 6 out of 6 matches only conceded 1 try all day. They played with great team spirit and some good rugby . Thanks to coach Clopper for your input on wed night it really worked ?? Coach Campbell

U14s

After a few weeks without a game Cockermouth u14s travelled to Carlisle. The lack of recent game time was evident in today’s performance. Carlisle were a strong team with big forwards which stood up to Cockermouth’s direct runners. Carlisle were also competitive at the breakdown winning some turnovers. Cockermouth managed to string some passages of play together and scored tries via Freddie using his pace in space outwide and a typical mixture of power and pace from Ed. Max converting both tries. Cockermouth continued with isolated runners and untidy play at the breakdown which prevented them building pressure when in attack. They did work hard in defence to ensure Carlisle had very few line breaks. Some poor discipline when disagreeing with refereeing decisions meant that Carlisle were marched up the pitch and able to score in the corner. Something for players to reflect upon. Cockermouth scored two more tries. One from a smart pick up from the back of the scrum and kick into space for our flying farmer Freddie to touch down, the other from another long range run down the wing from Ed. Max converting one of the tries. Final score 5-28 to Cockermouth
Pleasing aspects of the day were injured players (Harry and Bobby) travelling to support their teammates. Jack Hills, who is new to rugby, having his first game for the wasps.
Players cleaning their changing room after the game.
Areas for improvement are - securing clean possession and a quick play of the ball at the breakdown.
Maintaining our discipline and concentration if we think the referee has made a mistake.
Thanks to Carlisle for hosting and Alana’s laundry basket for cleaning players strips.

U15s Ospreys

The Ospreys had a great game away at Penrith with both teams playing a very physical, skilful and excellently managed game.

For the majority of the game, every tackle was made, rucks were competitive, skill levels high across both teams and the players game sense very impressive.

Penrith used their backs well to find field position for their big forwards to crash over from short range while the ospreys used their forwards to create fast ball and score at the edges.

Towards the end of the game it would be the Ospreys speed of game that came out on top with four late tries.

Well done to all players, it was a great game to watch. Parent - Chris Wright

Colts Update
Colts U17s had a tough home game v Penrith.
During the first 10 minutes Penrith had total control of all aspects of the game with our colts dropping off tackles, we were not in the game. Penrith took full advantage and scored first.
Our lads behind the post's spoke positively and fixed the slow start and all credit for their performance after this.
The lad's pushed on to win 24 - 10 and dominate large parts of the game.
Some good skills on display from forward plays to back plays in attack and excellent unit defence kept Penrith away from further scores.
I'm sure the final against Penrith on the 5th March will be a different game, which will be taking place at Silloth RUFC.

Senior Rugby

Unfortunately Whitehaven were unable to field a team and full 5 points were awarded to the Wasps. We wish Whitehaven all the best for future games and look forward to hosting them at the end of the season.

This Saturday the firsts are at home v Egremont, as always your support is much welcomed.
