Junior home games - great to see the club busy

Please see our U7s u8s picture from today. All played with big smiles which it is what we all want?? Coach Clopper

Today the U9s played their first home game of the season against a fairly big and quick Shark side and another strong Aspatria team which made the Wasps work hard today. Highlights in todays play was the committed tackling especially from one of our lads who im sure never failed to bring down there man. And a special full length try from our line, breaking a couple of tackles right up the touch line and in the corner.
These were 3 well contested games with each having players showing a bit of talent and all committed to the game and helping there team mates. Coach Hendy

U12/u13s team travelled to carlise today. In parts we played some nice rugby. We allowed the ref to frustrate us which distracted our game but that's something they need to learn and deal with during games. We did our usual of playing our best rugby in last 5 -10 mins when we realised keeping the ball alive and offloading in tackle was key. Nice to see Jamie getting 2 trys on wing, showing when we move the ball quickly we have players to finish ? a deserved try for T as well. There was a few handling errors in good positions that on another day we would have scored. Unlucky for Zac getting try disallowed for double movement going over, which was debatable.
Things to work on more competitive in defence, especially the ruck and scrummaging.
Final score i think was 6 trys to 3 for Carlisle.
Egremont away next Sunday so let's build on today ??? Coach S Burke

Talent Development
Well done to Dan Woodcock who has now completed his U18s Falcon Academy programme. We hope to see Dan back in. wasps jersey at some point this season showing of his further developed skill set and game development.

Senior Rugby

Wigton 15 Wasps 22

Cockermouth Wasps had a slow start and found it tough in the first half against a good Wigton side. Wasps forwards were guilty of playing to predictable with one out carriers near the Wigton ruck. In the 2nd half they just managed to come out on top with forwards playing more expansive and a better game pace. Try scorers were full back Harry Bibby x 3 and centre Jack Moore x 1, 1 conversion from Ed Gate. Young forward Alex Butterfield kept up his excellent season with another hard working, consistent performance.

Be great to see big support up this weekend as we take on the mighty challenge of Upper Eden, unbeaten in 2 years in the Cumbria League 1 and into the Cumbria Cup final, brilliant achievement.
