Update from C Poate

Following a challenging season for Cockermouth 2nds they travelled to Keswick for an evening fixture on Friday night. Cockermouth started the game with a strong attack keeping Keswick in there half until a loose ball allowed the home side to break through and take the lead. Following the early try both teams settled into the game and were equally matched in many areas. Keswick backs were stronger and well drilled which enabled them to execute set plays and pressure Cockermouth back line which eventually led to a 25.5 (not sure of the score) win to Keswick. Thanks to all the supporters who travelled through to watch and provided a great atmosphere for the game. Congrats to man of match chosen by the Wasps player, Will Tyson and by Keswick John Irving.

Chris Wright “Although the 2nds squad faltered in the 2nd half of the season it’s important to acknowledge their excellent contribution to this season. Their training levels have been high and Robbie Skelton, Thomas Peet, Alex Butterfield. Luke Armstrong and Dan Fielden became 1st regulars and developed rapidly. In addition Olly Gray, Dan Martin, Martin Jarman, David Gibson, Glen Goggin, S Leonard, Will Tyson and F Murry have experienced 1st team rugby and done very well.
